LANDIBLE is a landscape architectural studio dedicated to the highest level of custom design and planning for residential and cultural spaces.
We are a team of professionals with diverse skills who bring passion and knowledge to each project. With exuberant attention to people and land, we design places that are in tune with their context.
Mary grew up in a remote part of North Carolina where she developed a deep connection with landscape. With the creeks and woods of the Great Smoky Mountains as her playground, everyday conversations often revolved around the land and how to live on it.
This background, rooted in landscape, nurtured an ongoing fascination with land and culture that eventually led Mary to landscape architecture and to the founding of LANDIBLE in 2012.
Prior to opening LANDIBLE, Mary worked for notable landscape architectural offices in the San Francisco Bay Area. She designed and managed projects in scales ranging from private estates to public parks, playgrounds, and streetscapes.
Mary earned a Master in Landscape Architecture with Distinction from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Corcoran School of Art with independent study at the International Center of Photography and the New York Studio School. She has been a visiting lecturer and guest critic at UC Berkeley, California College of the Arts, The Academy of Art University and the University of Arizona.
Mary continues to fuel her passion for the intersection of landscape and culture. Recently she has helped to build a community water cistern in Peru, develop a homestay in Papua New Guinea, and conduct on-site studies of Kyoto's temple gardens and on the kitchen garden of Versailles. She is driven by her belief in the value of traditional methods and materials and how they can inform and inspire contemporary landscapes.
